Man is a rational animal as well as social. So he has the ability to think and analyse various matters on different dimensions. Overthinking is a type of thinking that consumes a lot of energy and prevents you from doing your activities. It is a process of repeatedly analyzing same thoughts over and over again instead of acting it upon. Overthinking arises due to the perfectionist and egoistic attitude of an individual and lack of acceptance of himself/herself. Do you want to get rid of over thinking? Here we go.
1. Accept yourself
Acceptance is the first step in the process of healing of your mind. Here we want to accept our failures, negatives, positives, success, and overall personality. Through Acceptance, we can control over thinking to a certain extent.2. Practicing proper communication
Now a days, people are badly immersed in the addictions of computer, mobile phones, social media, and internet. It increases the complexity of mind and we starts to draw ourselves from social circles. Instead of that, we must use of our communication skills for proper interaction with fellow beings. It helps us to share our problems and insecurities with others. Through proper communication we can share our frustrations and anxieties via opinions, arguments and healthy criticisms. It works on a give and take manner.3. Proper listening
The proper listening should be done with the heart, which means it should be done with utmost sincerity. It help us to understand that the problem may varies from person to person but intensity of pain which we suffer will be same. Proper listening help us to reduce the overthinking to certain extent. Listening help us to relax our mind.4. Observe the nature
"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."- Albert Einstein
From this, we can understand that nature can give easy and effective solutions to our problems, because nature is the ultimate book of knowledge. It has the capacity to absorb all things and maintains our ecosystem. It has the power to heal others, so try to spent few hours with nature.
5. Try to engage in different activities
Now a days, we are consciously or unconsciously trying to withdraw ourselves from responsibilities and challenges in our daily lives. Instead of that, try to take challenges and responsibilities. It help us to get engaged ourselves in different activities.6. Do exercise and Bread labour
"He who eats without performing sacrifice, eats stolen bread" says the Gita."Earn thy bread by the sweat of thy brow," says the Bible.
Mahatma Gandhi has given great emphasis on the concept of Bread labour, because he focused on sound body, sound mind and sound soul. When we do exercise or physical labour, it creates a sound body and help us to control over thinking, because here we are engaging our mind in a physical activity and the body also becomes healthy. The sound body enhances our self esteem and self confidence. It leads to sound mind and later into sound soul.
So dear friends, we can see the wonders in 21 days by following these six steps in our life. Go ahead.
